What are the Soul Winner’s Qualifications?

Many have made soul winning too complicated and too difficult.  Soul Winning should be so simple that even a child can take part or even a recently saved person.  Soul Winning is easy and God is the one who furnishes the results.

Qualification
To qualify as a soul winner you must simply be saved.  The only qualification of a soul winner.

The Great Christian
The following is a line from another web site which attempts to define a Soul Winner’s Qualifications …

In a sentence, these qualifications are simply …
* A heart cleansed and filled with the Holy Spirit, and
* an outward life that is entirely consistent and through which flows the convicting and drawing power of the Spirit.
And the two things, which above all others will produce these qualifications are:
* the daily feeding upon God’s Word, and
* a life or prayer.

I am sure the author meant well, but he has given us the definition of a Great Christian.  But a Great Christian is not needed to win souls.  God is definitely looking for Great Christians, but he will use any old Christian to spread the Gospel.

There are 3 reasons why we say this …
1)  1 Corinthians 3:6

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

The Christian’s work is planting and watering.  God does the convicting and saving.

So then, what is planting and watering.  To the beginner it is simply statements like …
“I got saved from all my sin, bet you would like to know about that?”
“Joe got saved, it changed his life.  Do you know what happened?”
“Jesus saved me and gave me eternal life.”

Even if you and I cannot explain any more beyond those statements, God can use them to affect hearts.  They are simply planting and watering statements, which is all you and I can do.  We can grow in Christ and learn more about what to say and we should, but planting and watering is part of the soul winning cycle.

2) Philippians 1:13-18

So that my bonds (jailed) in Christ are manifest (made known) in all the palace, and in all other places;
And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing (gaining) confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word (soul winners) without fear.
Some indeed preach (soul winning, not sermonizing) Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Paul rejoiced when anyone spoke about Jesus Christ, whether they were trying to cause strife or increase the Kingdom.  Paul is saying that God can use however little we give Him to win the hearts of the lost.

One should conclude that if God can use envy and strife to convict hearts and save them, he can also use my stumbling and bumbling.  As a matter of fact, in God’s mind, even the Great Christian we mentioned earlier is a stumbler and bumbler.  God even has to patch-up what he says.

3) John 4:36-38

And he that reapeth (reaping) receiveth (receiving) wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

One plants, another brings in the harvest, but both rejoice together, because both are part of the winning of the soul.

And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

The one planting, the other watering and even another harvests are all part of the soul winning operation with God, Who actually saves the soul.  The 3 workers enter into each other’s labor all sharing the same reward as soul winners.

Where is the Great Christian mentioned above?  He or she may or may not have even been part of the process.

1. The first person may have said …
* “I got saved”
* “Jesus saved me”
* “Jesus Saves” sign on the side of the highway

2. The second person may have been a little further along in his or her Christian life and said …
* “Everyone I know is a sinner, but Jesus saves sinners, I saw it in the Bible”
* “My life was changed when I got saved.  I just saw myself as a sinner and I saw Jesus as my Saviour from my sin.”
3. The third person may have said …
* “Why don’t you come to church with me, Sunday?  You can hear for yourself, the preacher is always talking about being saved and how to be saved?”
* “Let me show you this pamphlet.  It explains the process of being saved.  See, right here …”
The whole time God is using every little thing said or done to impress a lost soul.

All the above are part of the Soul Winning Process and share the same reward as the person who does the reaping.

Have you ever heard a previously unknown town mentioned on the radio or TV and then in the next few weeks, hear it mentioned 3-4 other times?  Or someone’s name?  Or the name of a recipe? And so on.  This is the way God works.  He will use your few words, then he will have that lost person hear something on TV, then their child will mention something similar they heard at school and so on.

The conclusion is this
There are no qualifications to be a soul winner.  We just only have to speak up and join in with the rest, so God has something to use in the lost person’s life.  We will all be rewarded together.

We should mention as well, that God is very disappointed if we never grow past the first stage.  Get to the place to where you can plant and water and gather the harvest.

You may never get to be that Great Christian we started with, but you can be rewarded over and over and over by entering into the work and labor of others in soul winning and become a soul winner for Jesus.

At almost every public event in which we set-up our soul winning booth, we will have someone saved and then that person goes and bring others to hear the same.
At the Czhilispiel (Chili Fest) in Flatonia, TX, a 16 year old girl got saved.  She spent the rest of the day bringing by all her friends and relatives.  Each time she would walk them up to the booth and point to us for them to go forward, knowing we would initiate the discussion and take a step back.  When the prospect sat down, she would take off again, looking for someone else.  She never said anything that we heard, but 16 were led to the Lord because of her.  She is a soul winner
SOUL WINNING!
* without knowing a thing
* without knowing a verse
* without speaking at all
* without training
* without buying books and tapes
Yet, is rewarded in the same manner as the one who reaps the harvest.
Agreed, she should move on and learn more about Jesus and how to reap the harvest, but she started without being the Great Christian of whom other web sites speak.

All of the above are participating in the soul winning process and share the same reward as the person who actually does the reaping.

4 Point Method to Walk Church Members into Soul Winning

Winning and Warning has an article on using Public Events to reach a local community and train church members in soul winning. The idea is to take members to Fairs, Festivals, Flea Markets and Parades, use a booth to Greet, Meet and Seat prospects for a thorough witness. Since so many can be talked to in this manner, many more members can be trained, very many more can be reached with the Gospel.

The steps are logical and progressive. Their experience in working with churches in evangelism is over many years with tried and proven results.

Check them out

Your need for reaching your community with the Gospel is at hand.

It only takes a few thousand tracts, a Saturday and a little training (only 2 hours for a shift leader and 2 services for workers). Most churches spend this much time every year in evangelism with little or no results.

Bet you did not know that there was something God could not do!!!

Gold Prices Popping out the Top!

Precious Commodity
Gold today was selling for $910 oz.  Up $600 from 8 years ago.

If anyone bought in at $310, it is doubtful they have anything to sell today.  Gold is precious and its price reflects it.  But as its price goes up, there is always a place where a person will part with it.  Later, either glad they did, or sad they did not hold on longer.

If you could gather gold rewards, surely you would.  Especially if they could never be lost.

Precious Place
Gold in Heaven is so prevalent, that it is used to pave streets.  It is so pure, it is transparent to some degree.

There is not a person on this entire globe, who would not want to go to a place like Heaven, if it were true, a factual place.  The problem is, how can Heaven be proven to everyone’s satisfaction?

The best way to prove it is by experience.
Everyone agrees, “If I could experience it, I would believe it.”
In 1976, I was told of Heaven and that I could know for sure that I would go there.  Of course, I could not believe it.  Who knows the future?  Better yet, who knows my future?  But, if it was true, I wanted it.

The Bible says, “He that believeth on him (Jesus) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Jesus Christ).”  Book of John – Chapter 3 – Verse 18.  To not be condemned to eternal punishment, is to be translated to eternal life with God in His Heaven of Gold.  The Bible also says, “if any man be in Christ (Saved, Born Again, not condemned), he is a new creature (creation, person)”.  Book of 2 Corinthians – Chapter 5 – Verse 17.

Experience the Change
So when a person receives Jesus Christ as Saviour, he or she is changed by God.  When this change arrives, the person can say that the Bible is true.  It promised a change and he or she has received it, from God.  Others have made changes themselves.  This is not what must be done to be saved, but must be done after salvation.

Since experience is the Litmus Test for validity, we invite all who will, to come.  Call on Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour from sin and punishment.  See if you do not experience the change.  When you receive the change, you will have your proof, because it is the promise of the Bible.

The difficult part in all of this, is the proof does not come before Jesus, but afterwards.  So a person must extend oneself by faith to gain the proof.

“I tried that and it did not work.”
Some have tried and were disappointed.  Me too.  But I tried insincerely.  I only ”tried” it.  But when I jumped in with both feet, Jesus caught me.  Changed my life.  Gave me the proof.

Get your proof.
Many have 100′s or 1000′s of objections.  But there is proof.  Go for the Gold.  Why listen to those without experience?  They cannot prove a negative, nobody can.  Proof is always with the positive, they have the experience.

Others have the proof.
